The Void

For a score or more I lived a bore, alarmingly alone
Until your whores tore down my door, exposing the unknown
And in my fright that night there was a light which slightly grew
Now I fight the white, contrite, and right life that I never knew

With the sinsitivity of a steamroller
I left each encounter the same
How can you learn from what's right if it's nowhere in sight?
And the biggest mistake you've made is your life

For too long I've slept in this monogamous bed while a unread book lies awaiting
All that I hear is the monotonous sound, but I guess that's just life...
In the void

After the thunder, I'm pulled down under and I'm cleansed by the gentle rain
And as the rust and dust flies off of me I finally see the path to take
Flying up the hill I once tried to kill, I catch the wind in stride
Now the gate is gone and the water flows past the void that has since died.

For too long I've slept with this monogamous bed while a unread book lies awaiting
All that I hear is the monotonous sound, but I guess that's just life...
In the void
