The Tempest

The skies were clear and the wind was blowing. Unknowingly, he set sail
He denied all fear and defended going--In his mind he could not fail
There were chalices filled with sweet ambrosia, golden crowns, and velvet robes
The dreamy stream of sleek aromas stoned his mind, dazed his probes

But the night got cold and the sea grew angry
The gusting wind capsized his craft
The ocean fought like a veteran soldier
He lost his yacht, and the ocean laughed

He was sinking in the seas of sorrow, drowning deep into despair
Dismally, he sought to borrow nourishment for his repair
His destiny had changed direction, this sudden storm had destroyed his path
He hid his heart, for he feared detection, marred by the scars of nature's laugh

The night got cold and the sea grew angry
The gusting wind capsized his craft
The ocean fought like a veteran soldier
He lost his yacht, and the ocean laughed

Washed up on a barren island trying to restore his mind
He's searching for some sort of answer... an answer that he'll never find
Who's to blame for his misfortune? Why did he set sail that day?
Try again, they'll surely scorch you--turn around and walk away.
