Preface

Ignoring the obstacles meant to impede
She shrugged off adversity, picking up speed
Determined to prove herself to them all
"I'll do it myself," she said with resolve

But the grade of the hill was slowing her down
She looked for support, though none could be found
She searched for some refugee, some assistance, some guide
But when none was found, alone she died

Where were her friends? Why was there no one to save her?
Why is stranding one's friends such a common human behavior?

We look down on some whose values we host
We abandon the friends that need us the most
When I need you, will you be there to save me?

Or will you look me in the eye,
Turn around, and walk
a...w...a...y....
